What comes after CISO?

Paul Calatayud
Investor, board member,
former CISO

Paul spent 25 years in the CISO seat. Then he moved to the other side of the table, as an investor, board member, and founder. Over dinner he's sharing how that move actually works.
He held the top security seat at Vesta, Surescripts, Aqua Security, and Archipelo, and spent four and a half years as Chief Security Officer at Palo Alto Networks. For fourteen years he taught incident response and forensics at SANS. Today he invests in cyber and AI founders as Managing Partner at CircleRock Capital, co-founded Archipelo where he's Chief Strategy Officer, and has helped steer companies to exits like SecureCircle to CrowdStrike and Invincea to Sophos. He also sits on Kindo's advisory board.
It's about what comes after the seat.
Advisory boards
How CISOs land advisory seats, what they're actually worth, and how to do it while you're still in the chair.
Boards and venture
Getting board-of-director seats and breaking into VC. The paths in, and what really opens the door.
Doing it clean
The conflict-of-interest stuff nobody spells out: procurement recusal, when to take equity, when to join for experience instead.
Peter Luger, a private room, one table.
We've reserved a private room at Peter Luger inside Caesars Palace. A proper steak, a closed table of CISOs, and a conversation that stays off the record.
